Bon Iver is the solo project of singer/songwriter Justin Vernon, who gained acclaim with his 2008 debut album, "For Emma, Forever Ago," recorded in isolation in a Wisconsin cabin. Justin Vernon's journey began after his indie folk band DeYarmond Edison disbanded, leading him to create Bon Iver in 2006.
