Friday 16 17, & 18 June Besides heavy hitters like P!nk, Robbie Williams, The War On Drugs, and DMA’s, one of The Netherlands’ largest and leading pop festivals dives into more niche acts than ever before. Madoux brings her dark and dreamy alt-songs to Pinkpop alongside Lauren Sanderson’s lo-fi R&B, Goldkimono’s electro-pop bops, and DYLAN’s danceable pop grooves. Don’t be fooled: the festival’s theme may be pink, but it’s not just all sweet.
16 June This one is for all you nightcrawlers. Descend into the ‘underground jungle’ at Gas 19 in the center of Nijmegen, and lose it to some of the most brutal drum and bass bangers. YOUPHORIA keeps you moving with her extended set next to Alvarits, and the very fitting Bunker Rave Soundsystem.
17 June Celebrating the ritual of the day and night, Festimi welcomes dancers back to its favorite garden and club hall in Amsterdam. The line-up is giving percussion-filled and groovy-hooked sets by dancefloor killers like Amaliah, Ineffekt, OK Williams, and a special b2b between Pieter Jansen and Rey Colino, among others who will keep you dancing from day to night.
17 June Do you hear the garden calling? The ‘mystic creatures’ are ready to take you into their dream world again. Glitter, fairies, and crazy decor are the main acts, but don’t let the scenery fool you: DJs like Layton Giordani, Giorgia Angiuli, VUUR, and Sarah Glizzy will be there whipping up magic with their sets too.
17 June A sold-out day at Ruigoord means that a perfect chaos is upon us. The ‘Trance Orient Express’ arrives for the twentieth time this year, bringing its famous psychedelic music and midsummer night rituals to the sanctuary in Amsterdam. The Solstice ritual is the star of the day, though, so prepare yourself to leave the festival as a completely different person.
17 June Thuishaven’s festival terrain lies between heavy industrial machinery and concrete buildings, but feels like its own little world of madness and bliss. Philou Louzolo turns every crowd he reaches with his genre-transcending electronic music into an almost cathartic shared experience, just like ‘positive energy’ DJ BLOND:ISH.
17 June King of the earworm, Burna Boy fuses dancehall, reggae, afrobeat, and pop. Catch him at GelreDome in Arnhem to start your summer with a bang. He’s just been confirmed as one of the headliners of Down The Rabbit Hole Festival in July and headlines his own ‘Love, Damini Tour’ this week. Catch him while he’s in town.
17 & 18 June
The Hemkade location has an iconic, old factory vibe to it, and many legendary raves have filled up its halls since the grounds have opened to the public. So it’s only fitting that Elements brings industrial techno to the grounds just outside of Amsterdam, where DJs like 3.2KM, Cynthia Spiering, LØIS, and many others put the hard in hard techno.
